LottoByText Winnings Now Collected with PayPoint

LottoByText have announced exciting plans regarding how customers can pick up their lottery winnings. Within the coming weeks, any winnings that you claim can be collected from any PayPoint terminal. In laymen’s terms this means more or less any newsagent’s across the country.

Not convinced?

There are 24,000 convenience stores across the country that are PayPoint ready, and therefore primed to dish out those important winnings. Here’s a handy little map to show how much of the country is covered.

The darkest parts are where the highest concentration of PayPoint terminals are found.

As you can see you won't need to travel far to find somewhere you can collect your LottoByText syndicate winnings.

Still not convinced?

See if you recognise any of the retailers below?

This is just an example of some of the retailers you can pick your winnings up from.

Why is this so good?

Currently LottoByText allow you to collect your winnings by cheque or preferably from any Post Office nationwide.

This is pretty darn good.

However I checked what this means for residents of Bolton.

A quick search found there is one Post Office available in the centre of Bolton.

While this is great for LottoByText customers; what if our lucky winners had other options.

So I searched PayPoint locations nearby and I found 5 locations within 30 seconds of the Post Office.

Not only does this mean more choice for customers, it also means you don’t have to wait in line at the Post Office, hoping for your number to be called out.

What to do if you win!

When you win, you will be presented with an option to receive your winnings either as a cheque or through PayPoint. Select PayPoint and  you will receive an SMS from LottoByText with your voucher code.

Take your voucher code to the local newsagent or any other PayPoint terminal and inform the cashier of the code.

They’ll verify the code and give you your winnings from the National Lottery or EuroMillions.

It really is as easy as that.

If you win more than £100 you will have to call LottoByText on 0870 803 3037 and customer services will send a cheque out.

Also, make sure you claim your winnings within 30 days to avoid disappointment.

LottoByText are the UK’s most popular mobile alerts & lottery syndicate operator. If you would like to join one of our lucky lottery syndicates visit our 5 Free Lottery Lines page.

EuroMillions Results Round-up

November is here and it’s time for a monthly roundup of lottery results.

I’ve got some good news and bad news in today’s post. Unless you’ve still not found your winning ticket, the bad news is that we have not had one EuroMillions jackpot winner throughout the whole month of October.

However, if you’ve not already guessed, the good news is this Friday 2nd November is a ginormous EuroMillions rollover. As it stands, the jackpot is an estimated £95 million.

Also, don’t forget, when you play the EuroMillions, you are also automatically entered into the Millionaire Raffle, where one lucky ticket is drawn separate to each EuroMillions jackpot, and the winner receives £1M. (You had better check your ticket again, just in case!)

If the jackpot is scooped this Friday, the charmed individual who holds all the lucky numbers could be taking home one of the largest EuroMillions jackpots to date.

As I stated at the start of this post, this is a monthly roundup of lottery results for November. So let’s see what they numbers were...

If you didn’t win this month, don’t despair. Playing the lottery as part of a lottery syndicate actually increases your chances of winning that big jackpot. In fact, the National Lottery states that 1 in 4 jackpots is won by a syndicate. The next draw could be your lucky day.

You can get 5 free lines in the next Lotto/EuroMillions draw by playing with LottoByText. Why not give it a try?

EuroMillions: Millionaires’ Families Come First

Over the summer, the National Lottery, in collaboration with Oxford Economics, conducted an exclusive survey of the millionaires it has created since its conception in 1994 and what they have done with their winnings.

It’s a great read with some really interesting results, some of which are completely unexpected.

In an effort not to overload you with statistics, I have chosen to focus on a small proportion of the facts. In particular – one of the most interesting facts highlighted is how the winners distributed their newfound wealth amongst themselves and their family and friends.

Here are some interesting facts the survey bought to light:

More than just 3000 Millionaires?

·      Lottery winners have, so far, spent £1.615 billion on investments for the future/children.
·      510 millionaires have been directly created by Lottery Millionaires’ generosity of giving (excluding gifts given to their children).

·      3270 children of winners are already, or will be when they grow up, millionaires as a result of their parents’ win.

That’s a fantastic amount of millionaires made. The spread of wealth to children and family is something I didn’t think about before reading the report.

To put this into perspective, the £1.615bn spent on investments for the future/children money is the equivalent to what it would cost to raise three quarter of a million British children (according to the Guardian’s estimate that the average cost of raising a child to the age of 18 is £218,000).

Family matters dealt with

·    National Lottery Millionaires have spent £1.17 billion on gifts for family and friends.
·    3000 millionaires have paid off 3700 mortgages of family and friends
·    390 winners gave their previous home to a friend or family member

Oh to be a friend of a jackpot winner! The amount spent on gifts for friends and family is even more surprising, when you consider that the amount Lottery winners’ have spent on large items for themselves (such as cars and holidays) only amounted to £680 million.

As the National Lottery research suggests, winning a huge jackpot means financial freedom not only for the winners themselves, but also for their friends and family.

During these tough economic times, having the opportunity to help those around you is a definitely not an opportunity to be missed.

As 1 in 4 jackpots is won by lottery syndicates it’s no surprise people boost their chances of winning by playing as part of syndicate. We can offer you the chance to play in the next EuroMillions or Lotto draw for free. All you have to do is join one of our syndicates and hope those winnings numbers to come up. Who knows, you and your family could be holidaying in Barbados this Christmas.

It’s worth a try, isn’t it?

EuroMillions & Lotto News Roundup

For the benefit of those who missed this week’s hot lottery news, I’ve decided to do a weekly roundup of what’s happening on our sister news site.

We have three exciting stories for you this week:

The first is a piece on the humbling tale of the EuroMillions winner who does not want to give up his job, despite winning the iconic £148M EuroMillions jackpot, back in August. The second story is of the news that a pensioner’s dream finally came true with a lottery win. My final piece focuses on the city of Sheffield and how it’s benefiting from National Lottery funding.

After successfully matching 5 balls and 2 lucky stars to win the second-largest lottery windfall in British history, Adrian Bayford and his wife Gillian, spent their first vacation in a caravan in Scotland with Gillian’s parents. The couple, on holiday, reportedly were modest spenders only splashing out on Easyjet flights to Scotland and a night in with takeaway pizzas.

Upon winning this kind of money, most people would expect a Lotto winner to at least leave their job. Oh no, not Adrian! Having spent his whole life building a small music shop business in Suffolk, he wasn’t going to let it go easily. So come Monday morning he was back on the shop floor, making tea for his business partner and re-tuning those violins.

What are your thoughts on going back to work after winning the lottery?

Thomas Foden, an eighty-year-old National Lottery winner from Tipton, recently scooped a £3.9 million jackpot with the help of his daughter, Irene Harper.

This draw, on Saturday 29th September 2012, made history, as it was the UK’s first quadruple Lotto rollover draw ever to occur.

Mr. Foden vows he always knew he was going to win the lottery: “I always said we’d have a big win and it’s a surprise now it’s actually come true,” he told ITV news. His daughter, on the other hand, was completely shocked and couldn’t believe her luck.

Interestingly, it was only recently that they shifted their store of choice for purchasing their National Lottery tickets from local convenience store Fags and Mags to the, far luckier in their case, Costcutter supermarket.

Have you ever thought about changing the way you buy your lottery tickets?

The city of Sheffield is to benefit from a £1.3 million grant from the National Lottery. The immediate beneficiary will be Sheffield Cathedral, situated within the city centre.

In order to restore it to its former glory, the stunning cathedral, dating back to 1430 A.D., needs extensive work to keep it in a good condition.

These renovation plans are extended to Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet – an 18th century steel works – which has just also received funding to repair the site for visitors.

Sheffield is indeed set to have a National Lottery make-over!

However, that’s now it for this week! Did you know LottoByText release exclusive lottery news every day?
