Share the fun, the dreams and the wins

The National Lottery has made over 3,700 millionaires and given out more than £53 billion in prizes since its launch in the 1994.

This promising statistics does not mean that it is easy to win the lottery. Chances are still stacked against you.

With 1 in 6 lotto jackpots won by syndicates, joining a lottery syndicate might be the way to go to win that big jackpot. More players will give you the buying power of getting more lines, increasing your chances of success.

Joining a lottery syndicate might seem harmless and easy, but the reality of winning as part of a syndicate has its own set of complexities. There have been cases where players missed out on their winnings so it’s essential to ensure one has a solid agreement in place to save on any complications or a selfish person trying to pull a fast one.

Despite the nasty tales of court cases, there are still advantages to playing as part of a syndicate. For one, your chances of winning are boosted considerably. The greater the numbers of people joining, the more likely you are going to end up a winner. The winning money will have to be shared around, but the winnings can still be considerable if the numbers are limited or the jackpot is huge.

EuroMillions £80M Superdraw 3rd October 2014

The EuroMillions Superdraws are some of the most anticipated events for lottery fans across Europe and the UK. The Superdraws happen a few times a year to celebrate an anniversary or a special event.

Superdraw tickets are purchased in the same way that standard EuroMillions tickets are, with players selecting five main numbers from 1 to 50 and two Lucky Stars from 1 to 11. In the event there is no match for the 5 main numbers and 2 lucky stars, the jackpot will rollover to the next eye-watering amount. Superdraws usually boost the EuroMillions jackpot and attract crowds of lotto players hoping to have their shot at the record-breaking payouts.

What could you do with a jackpot win? Tonight's EuroMillions is a massive £80M!

In case you haven't heard, tonight's EuroMillions jackpot is a massive £80 million! If you haven't got your tickets yet, don't forget you can get more chances for your money by playing in a Lottery syndicate with LottoByText - straight to your mobile - click here to find out more and get yours now!

£80 million a pretty hefty sum, but you'd be forgiven for struggling to get your head around exactly how rich a win like that could make you. That's why, in this post, we've picked out some ideas on how to spend that kind of cash... take a look.

An Upgraded Home in the UK

The average house price in the UK, according to The Office for National Statistics, hit £250,000 at the end of 2013. So you could buy 320 average houses in the UK... that's at least one property in every county in the UK! A bit much? Okay, well how about spending £68 million of your total £80m on one of the most expensive properties in the UK? That'd leave you with a good £12m to spend on whatever else you like, and it ought to hold its value with a little set aside for upkeep.

A Holiday

For a mere £1 million, you can embark on a two-year-long trip visiting over 150 countries, courtesy of veryfirstto.com. Other options for the same price, according to The Telegraph, include a flight to space with Virgin Galactic, a month on board a private plane, 57 nights in the Hugh Hefner Sky Villa or 23 years at Butlins!

Visit more than 150 countries over 2 years - £1m
A Car

The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster - $4.5 million (£2.7 million). For a mere $2.5 million (£1.5 million) you can bag yourself a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse... you might need to hire a track to drive them on, but hey, you could buy a fleet of these cars and still have more cash leftover than you know what to do with!

The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster - $4.5 million
Something More Trivial?

You could buy 24.2 million Caramel Macchiatos from Starbucks. No? How about 53.7 million double cheeseburgers from McDonald's? That's one double cheeseburger for every man, woman and child in England (according to The ONS in mid 2012)!

However you'd spend £80 million, you won't get a chance if you don't buy a ticket! Why not play in one of LottoByText's Lottery syndicates for more chances of getting your hands on some of that jackpot?

Good luck!

Win a Romantic Prize to Share With Your One-in-a-Million This Valentine’s Day!

After the highs and lows of the Christmas period, Valentine’s Day is the next festive celebration to look forward to. But with the not-so-heart-warming economic crisis, there are very few ways to keep up with the over-priced gift trends and make your one-in-a-million feel truly special.

To really get that romantic feeling this February 14th we are pleased to offer you a chance of winning a romantic meal for two at Carluccio's or a luxurious hamper from Interflora. To enter the competition head over to the LottoByText Facebook page and like the app now!

Whether you are one of the 40% of the population that doesn’t go in for the whole Valentine’s Day hype, or you are the other 60% which is going to splash out and make up the multi-billion pound industry, winning this treat could really change that night spent on the sofa.

What is the price of love?

Even though many couples try to avoid exchanging tacky stuffed animals or sexy underwear that probably wouldn’t fit, they are still going to spend money on expressing their feelings with a romantic gesture.

According to Daily Infographic, 45% of the UK population plan to purchase something for a loved one this Valentine’s day. Britons will also collectively spend a whopping £668 million on celebrating love this year, with men spending almost double what women would!

Some might say, Valentine’s Day is simply far too expensive for what the heart can afford.

And since love is all about dreaming, why not dream of a National Lottery win which can take you and your other half on a top romantic cruise destination such as the Seychelles, the Maldives or St. Lucia.

Saying it with flowers and dinner!

It seems that the one area we shouldn’t scrimp on (as cliche as it might be) is flowers. 70% of women would like to receive their lovely bunch at home and nearly 20% of both men and women would enjoy a luxury chocolate set.

Huffington post’s statistics showed an upward trend for flower buying, as in 2012 we bought 2,745,000 flower gifts! Interflora’s research suggests that more than 30% of us would spend February the 14th the classic way - dinner, chocolates, flowers and the company of the loved one.

Valentines is less than 2 weeks away, so hurry up and head over to our Facebook page for your chance to win a classic romantic treat, simply by liking our app!

Good luck and have a Happy Valentine’s!

National Lottery price hike only 2 weeks away

We thought we should give you another heads up!

If you aren't aware already, the nation's favorite lottery operator, the National Lottery, is upping the price of a Lotto ticket from the 5th October 2013.

The cost of playing the Lotto doubles on 5th October 2013

After much protest and criticism the National Lottery have stuck to their original plan & will change how the game is structured as well as raising the prices.

While the cost of a lotto ticket hasn't increased since the National Lottery started 19 years ago, it has come as a shock to some players, including ourselves.

One disgruntled player was quick to voice his concerns through the National Lottery's Facebook page

Geordie Mick said: “It’s becoming a game for the rich. Poor people will never have a chance of bettering ourselves now.”

Pauline Leather, another former Facebook fan added: “As a pensioner on a budget I can’t afford to be paying £2 a line. You’ve just lost a customer and should hang your heads in shame.”

It's not all doom and gloom!

Here at LottoByText, we've thought long and hard about how we can allow lottery syndicate players to still enjoy the benefits of LottoByText whilst the cost goes up.

Therefore, we've decided on a price fix!

As LottoByText players, you will not be affected by the price increase.

In fact, as a special thank you for being loyal customers we're going to be offering extra special promotions to coincide with the National Lottery £2 price hike. Watch this space!

Importantly, nothing will change if you are a LottoByText customer. Your weekly subscription costs will stay the same and your lotto numbers will stay the same.

As an added bonus you will also receive even more chances to win cash prizes.

This is how?

As part of the Lotto makeover, the National Lottery are adding a brand new raffle with at least 50 guaranteed winners of £20,000 in every draw. So that's 100 raffle winners each week.

With your typical LottoByText syndicate you'll get an extra 10 entries into the raffle each week, at no extra cost.

There's even more to shout about!

At no extra cost and as little as £4.50 per week LottoByText customers will get

  • 5 EuroMillions Lines for the Tuesday or Friday draw

  • 5 EuroMillions Raffle entries

  • 5 Lotto Lines for the Wednesday and Saturday draw

  • 10 Lotto Raffle entries

You don't need to be a mathematician to work out that playing in a LottoByText syndicate is good value & the best way to play the lottery. When you next think about putting a few pounds on the lottery, take a second to think about how many chances you want!

LottoByText syndicates will allow you to get 30 chances each week to win the major cash prizes.
